What are the responsibilities and job description for the BOM Coordinator position at LM Manufacturing?
JOB SUMMARY:
The position is responsible is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining all bills of material. This is a highly important and detail-oriented role that requires the ability to think critically, and problem solve through cross-functional collaboration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Input initial BOM into MRP system.
- Schedule BOM reviews prior to key build events cross functional team.
- Bill of Material (BOM) Audit Champion - Schedule and track performance of the internal BOM audit.
- Review audit results and ensure that the engineering BOM in accordance with the Agile data
- Audit product to ensure BOM accuracy
- Create new part assemblies based on Engineering direction
- Engage in construction of BOMs derived by cross functional communication with internal and external teams
- Participate in BOM support for design and engineering
- Provide direction and support to internal departments based on BOM requirements
- Provide costing information based on custom boat drawings provided by Engineering
- Work with Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain and Marketing to ensure BOM has the correct structure, components, and quantities in Syteline
- Perform special projects as assigned in support of the organizations business objectives, which may include working outside of normal business hours
- Updates Plant Tracking System for product changes, by monitoring Agile product change status.
- Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely and follows all the Company's safety policies and procedures./
- Complies with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards in accordance with company policies, the Occupational Health & Safety Act. and the Michigan Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Ensures all employees and visitors have a safe environment in that safety and housekeeping standards are maintained; and all hazards, unsafe actions, or unsafe conditions have been identified, corrected, and/or eliminated.
- Responds to and investigates all reports of injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately.
- Takes an active part in the division’s safety program by performing regular workplace inspections, effectively investigates accidents/incidents promptly, and assists in meeting or exceeding the division’s safety goals.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Three to five years prior Manufacturing experience, preferably in the areas of JIT automotive, or Tier 1 Manufacturing or a combination of both.
- Knowledge of product and process preferably in the automotive seating industry.
- Knowledge of Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) process
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong communication skills: verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate and complete multiple tasks within and across department to meet established and changing deadlines.
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate information to suppliers, management, and employees.
- Demonstrated successful performance with independent problem solving and leadership.
- Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Work performed in an office environment. Normal mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, may require travel.
