POSITION SUMMARY |
Meet or exceed personal Catering sales goals, assist other members of the Catering team to help facilitate achievement of their goals. |
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES |
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS |
Solicit new accounts, make cold calls, respond to telephone and walk-in inquiries, and review previous banquet files to generate business in order to meet or exceed personal sales goals. |
Write banquet menus, memos and event orders. Review and revise Catering department guarantee sheets and weekly event sheets. Perform administrative duties associated with position including inputting BEO’s, resume preparation and distribution, SPG account management, billing, etc. Coordinate various departments participation in servicing accounts. |
Move throughout the property to conduct site inspections, reporting any areas requiring maintenance to the appropriate department. Tour existing, former and potential clients, providing information about the property and by utilizing an effective and positive sales technique. |
Negotiate, prepare and write contracts and enter information into the Daylight system. Accurately block meeting space and guest rooms. Consistently use the Daylight call reporting system. |
Assist with the banquet leadership responsibilities to ensure operational standards are consistently delivered and that we meet or exceed guest expectations. |
Interact with clients to determine needs and direct staff accordingly. Review guest service score reports and Event Rating forms and take necessary action to ensure we exceed our customer’s expectations and maintain company standards. |

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions. |

Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times. |
Maintain good working relationship with preferred vendors of the property. |
Maintain open communication with all property-operating departments. |
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor such as: attending outside V.I.P. parties and social events, assisting Sales Managers close pieces of business, etc. |
Qualifications

Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. |
Thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, preparation and presentation. |
Strong leadership, negotiating and closing skills. |
Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. |
Considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error. |
Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system. |
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons. |
Ability to input 40 WPM on a computer keyboard. |
