Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ward Clerk to join our healthcare team. The Ward Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the ward by managing clerical tasks, maintaining medical records, and providing excellent front desk support. This position requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and proficiency in health information management systems.
Duties
- Manage patients leaving and returning on outings and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing medical records, ensuring compliance with regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Utilize Point Click Care for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
- Utilize LabCorp for communicating lab needs and retrieving results.
- Assist healthcare professionals by providing clerical support, including filing, scheduling appointments, and answering phone calls.
- Coordinate with various departments to facilitate communication regarding patient care and facility operations.
- Ensure the front desk area is welcoming and efficiently managed for patients and visitors.
- Stay informed about Long Term Care guidelines and health information management practices to assist patients effectively.
Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly in roles involving clerical duties or front desk operations.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and experience as a certified nursing assistant or with medical records management are highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Point Click Care is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
