POSITION SUMMARY
The Nursing Program Coordinator provides operational support to the Department of Nursing and is the principal point of contact for prospective and current student inquiries.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties specific to this position:
Nursing Program Administration Support
- Demonstrates and encourages professional standards, organizational values, and ethical conduct consistent with the organization.
- Supports and promotes department goals.
- Serves as a conduit, managing communications throughout the department.
- Coordinates activities associated with the management of the undergraduate and graduate Nursing programs.
- Plans events for the Nursing Department and assists with execution of events.
- Maintains relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders to conduct business on behalf of the Nursing Department.
- Maintains and nurtures sound working relationships in order to share information and knowledge with team members.
- Assists the Chair in maintaining the Nursing budgets.
- Maintains the Nursing email account, which includes answering emails and forwarding appropriately.
- Supports staff, faculty and adjunct needs.
- Attends program and department meetings as directed and maintains official records.
- Assists with on-going program contracts, files, and database.
- Sorts, screens, and distributes mail.
- Composes and ensures timely responses to a variety of written requests, including preparing documents, and composing routine correspondence as required.
- Assists with the updating of policies and procedures.
- Maintains departmental website and catalog with assistance from Asst. Coordinator
- Serves as point of contact for support of new employees.
Recruitment/Enrollment/Student Services:
- Serves as first point of contact for prospective undergraduate and graduate students, parents and the public to provide program information and make referrals to appropriate College personnel.
- Manages new nursing transfer students and assists undeclared students with nursing interest to be sure they are registered correctly and ready for progression to partner schools.
- Provides continuous monitoring of student numbers via weekly reports of enrolled students throughout the year, making corrections of graduation dates, progression to partner schools, and appropriate course registrations.
- Maintains correct coding of student records when a student is unsuccessful in a course and their timeline for courses needs to be extended.
- Represents the Department of Nursing at various events, including but not limited to Open Houses, Preview Days, Accepted Student Days with weekend attendance necessary for some.
- Uses Phinfo, Slate, Datatel/Colleague and Onbase for required enrollment and academic data on prospects and students.
- Serves as a point of contact for all nursing students for problem resolution, involving faculty and administration as appropriate.
- Interfaces with most college offices on a day-to-day basis to resolve student problems including but not limited to the Admission, Bursar, Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Success, Advisement, Academic Departments, etc.
- Assists with the administration of nursing student scholarships.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates Degree or equivalent professional experience required
- 2 years of experience working in an administrative position required
- Experience working in a higher education environment is preferred.
- Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills
- Superior interpersonal abilities to collaborate with diverse personalities in a mature, timely, and tactful manner
- Ability to work independently, navigate and meet competing deadlines
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of program and student information
- Proficient in the use of all MS Office applications and Google Suite
