Job Description : Responsibilities :

• The Controller is responsible for executing all directives from the Finance Director to ensure that systems and procedures are in place for the efficient maintenance of its subsidiaries’ accounting and financial management system.
• Applies principles of accounting and analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and profit and loss accounts, and prepares financial statements and other financial reports.
• The Controller leads all day-to-day finance operations and is responsible for directly supervising the accountants and also the payroll, accounts payable and billing supervisors, ensuring timely recording of all financial transactions.
• Responsible for carrying out the company’s financial plans, its internal control system and procedures, the conduct of its relationships with lending institutions and the financial community, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports.
• Review general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and accounting journals as necessary to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Supervise staff to ensure timely bank reconciliations and other GL account reconciliations.
• Supervise fiscal monitors to ensure timely completion of vendor audits, AFPF fees assessment and start-up processing.
• Supervise the vendorization of new vendors and rates update, SLS processing, and files management.
• Prepares monthly reimbursement claims to State agencies.
• Monitor and determine cash flow needs, recommends short- and long-term investments and coordinates cash transfers.
• Work closely with Federal, State and Local Government agencies and departments.
• Coordinate and supervise independent and governmental auditors in conducting annual and / or periodic audits.
• Primary contact with the bank on all bank related matters.
• Ensure timely quarterly governmental reporting and tax filings as required.
• Coordinate and supervise the monthly and year end close procedures.
• Work closely with other departments as required to facilitate efficient and effective operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
