Position Summary
Under general supervision, washes Hospital vehicles, maintains grounds equipment and tools in a clean and operating order. Maintains the Health Systems grounds in a clean, safe and attractive condition. Performs general maintenance repairs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Plant, cultivate, water, fertilize, weed, edge, spray, mow and trim lawns, flowerbeds, scrubs and trees.
- Operate riding mowers, tractors, trimmers, and other light yard equipment and performs minor repairs on same when directed.
- Remove leaves, trash from walks, stairs, entrance, driveways and parking lots manually. Cut and remove fallen and dead limbs using handsaw.
- Operate compactor to dispose of all types of trash including broken concrete, leaves, bottles and so forth. Removes animals and insects from grounds and exterior surfaces.
- Perform landscaping and lawn projects, unload salt, fertilizer and other supplies, material and equipment.
- Assist Maintenance/Plant Operations personnel in performing general repairs.
Requirements
- Must be able to understand, transmit and follow simple oral and/or written instructions and be able to perform simple math calculations.
- Up to two weeks on-the-job training required for full comprehension of most job duties and details.
- Work independently and use good judgment.
- Must have a valid Ohio driver's license and a driving record acceptable by the LMHS liability insurance carrier.
