The Modeling & Simulation SME will provide specialized subject matter expert-level support in modeling, simulation, data analysis, and data visualization for internal and external CBP customers.

Responsibilities
The Modeling & Simulation SME will provide specialized subject matter expert-level support in modeling, simulation, data analysis, and data visualization for internal and external CBP customers.
- Lead and oversee the development, implementation, and review of decision-making work products and artifacts to include, but not limited to technical analyses, investigations, and studies; design drawings, requirements and specifications; cost estimates; project/program schedules; test documentation, analyses and reports.
- Improve the overall quality and timeliness of CBP modeling, simulation, analysis and visualization activities by leading and supporting the development, implementation, and review of modeling, simulation, analysis and visualization policies, processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Lead and participate in integrated product teams, working groups, and technical teams to coordinate with internal and external CBP stakeholders, service providers, contractors, and other governmental organizations.
- Prepare program, project, and task summaries with findings, conclusions and recommendations, and present summaries to colleagues, leaders and decision makers.
- Plan, execute, and support, verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) activities in accordance with CBP policy and process.
- Maintain currency and provide recommendations on DHS, DoD, and industry guidance, best practices, and techniques in modeling, simulation, analytics, and visualization.
- Provide M&S laboratory technology refresh and upgrade recommendations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a BS degree in engineering, physics, or mathematics and 10 years of related experience with demonstrated experience as an industry leader.
- Strong leadership and team-building strengths.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale DoD projects.
- Demonstrated experience with industry and DoD guidance and best practices in modeling and simulation capabilities and data analytics techniques.
- Understanding of and experience across all phases of the DHS Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC).
- Experience with object-oriented programming and systems modeling languages such as SysML, UPDM, UAF, Python, Java, C , etc.
- Experience with Agile Development methods.
- Excellent consulting, written, and verbal communication skills to support and manage customers and clients.
- Self-directed, detail oriented, and able to coordinate and work with a dynamic team and multiple stakeholders.
- Active or ability to pass U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of CBP enterprise, mission areas, acquisition programs and projects.
- Knowledge of sensor performance and integration, communications, and information system security disciplines.
- Familiarity with DHS 102- 01- 001, Appendix B and the CBP Program Lifecycle Process Guide.
- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches, methodologies, and tools.
- Comfortable using CI/CD processes and Git.
