Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy machinery including excavator, bulldozer and skid steer and will be responsible for ensuring efficient and safe operation of equipment on job sites. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to complete projects on time.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment including dump trucks, front loaders, backhoes, excavator, bulldozer and skid steer.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Safely transport materials and equipment to and from job sites.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other operators to coordinate tasks effectively.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of job sites as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and any maintenance performed.
Experience
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, including but not limited to dump trucks, roll-off trucks, front loaders, backhoes, water trucks, and cranes.
- A valid commercial driver's license (CDL A or B) is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues with machinery.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment is a plus.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing job site demands.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
