Lone Mountain Land Company (LMLC) manages the planning, entitlement, building, marketing, and sale of premier real estate communities around Big Sky, Montana. The company supports world-class operations at Spanish Peaks Mountain Club and Moonlight Basin and oversees real estate activities at Spanish Peaks, Moonlight Basin, Big Sky Town Center, and other projects in the Big Sky region.

Position Summary
The Operator shall assist in the supply and distribution of domestic water and the collection and treatment of wastewater for the customers of Moonlight Basin, Spanish Peaks, and Buck’s T-4. Moonlight Basin water and sewer is a subsidiary of Lone Mountain Land Company (LMLC). The Operator shall report to the Director of Utilities.
Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in Sustaining Operating Systems
- Perform preventative and routine maintenance on existing infrastructure to keep all system components functioning properly
- Repair or oversee repairs to existing infrastructure as necessary
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems and malfunctions
- Perform utility locates for infrastructure

Ensure Regulatory Compliance
- Thoroughly understand and abide by all local, state, and federal agency rules and requirements
- Perform sampling, testing, and monitoring as required

Uphold Safety and Security Measures
- Obey all applicable OSHA rules and regulations
- Safely store and handle all chemicals in recommended manners
- Understand and educate fellow personnel on chemical hazards
- Protect water supply and distribution components susceptible to contamination, both accidental and intentional
- Be familiar with and understand the emergency response plan

Assist in Development Review
- Observe and periodically inspect the construction of new infrastructure
- Supervise and inspect new water and wastewater hookups to existing service stubs
- Supervise the tapping of all existing mains

Record and Maintain Data
- Water well levels
- Water and wastewater flow quantities
- Pump run times
- Water disinfection levels
- Effluent reservoir levels
- Effluent disposal quantities
- Septic tank pumping quantities
- Infrastructure maintenance logs
- All sampling, testing, and monitoring

Supervise and Train Personnel
- Assistant Operators

- Assist in purchasing equipment and supplies as necessary

Qualifications & Experience

Education and Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
- At least 2 years’ experience with either water systems (supply and distribution) or wastewater systems (collection and treatment), preferably both

Physical Capabilities
- Ability and willingness to work in a variety of weather and job conditions
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and assist others in lifting heavier amounts
- Ability to perform work that may require bending, stooping, crawling, and climbing
- Willingness to be on call and/or available for emergencies 24 hours a day during scheduled workdays

- Willingness to obtain continuing education as required by the State of Montana to gain additional levels of certification
