What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Insurance Authorizations Specialist position at LMS Recruiting?
We are seeking an Authorization Specialist who can manage the authorization process for our patients. This is a full-time, permanent position with an established Home Health Therapy firm.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in Insurance Authorizations to include Medicaid and private insurers
- Understanding of medial terminology related to Home Health
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to use computer systems such as Microsoft Office
- Good typing abilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process patient intake information
- Manage patient authorizations as determined by managed care providers (Medicaid) or private health insurance
- Prepare and submit insurance claim forms properly
- Ensure medical service documentation are accurate and timely
- Verify patient information
- Other office duties as needed.
