Position Title Assistant/Associate Professor of Anatomy Department DCOM BASIC SCIENCES Position Category Faculty Job Description
The DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (DCOM) at Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) is seeking an open rank anatomy faculty member to contribute to the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences and Anatomical Sciences, and PhD in Anatomy Education programs, with other teaching duties in allied health programs and dual enrollment courses as required. The position is a renewable, non-tenure track, 12-month appointment based at the main campus of LMU-DCOM in Harrogate, TN with occasional travel to the Knoxville, TN campus. The successful candidate will primarily facilitate large group lectures and small group lab sessions of dissection-based medical gross anatomy in the first-year basic sciences curriculum. Additional teaching in histology, neuroanatomy, and embryology courses as well as in the second-year systems-based curriculum is possible. Researchers in anatomy education, clinical anatomy, biological anthropology, or vertebrate paleontology are especially encouraged to apply to join existing collaborative research teams across campuses. Mentorship of graduate and medical students and participation in department and institutional service is expected. Benefits include a yearly budget for travel, professional development, and books; research startup funds; and an excellent benefits package including four weeks of paid vacation. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with training and experience.

Harrogate is conveniently situated between several larger cities: 1.5 hours from Knoxville, 2.5 hours from Asheville NC, 2.5 hours from Lexington KY, and 4 hours from Nashville.
