Job Overview :
As a Family Support Service Specialist at LNR Services L.L.C., you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive support to families and children / youth. Your primary responsibility will be to assist families in developing and implementing plans to ensure the well-being and safety of children and youth. This role involves direct interaction with families, children, and other professionals to provide coaching, teaching, and role modeling, aiming to prevent out-of-home placements and facilitate family reunification.
Key Responsibilities :
Assessment and Planning :
Conduct thorough assessments of family and child / youth needs.
Develop and implement individualized family support plans.
Provide face-to-face assistance within 72 hours as required.
Support and Intervention :
Offer coaching and teaching to families to enhance parenting skills and family dynamics.
Role model positive behaviors and effective communication strategies.
Address and mitigate any issues that could lead to out-of-home placement.
Case Management :
Collaborate closely with Case Managers, parents, and other professionals.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interactions and interventions.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of family support plans.
Crisis Intervention :
Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations.
Assist in the development of safety plans to ensure the immediate safety of children and youth.
Advocacy and Resource Coordination :
Advocate for the needs and best interests of children and families.
Connect families with community resources and services.
Provide transportation for children and families when necessary.
Training and Development :
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Stay informed about best practices and new developments in family support services.
Qualifications :
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
Skills and Abilities :
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively.
