Shift Dock Operator

Loadstar provides product handling and site logistics services to refineries, chemical plants, barge lines and terminals. We load and unload all classes of cargos into railcars, trucks, barges, and ships; we operate docks, tank farms, terminals, and warehouses; and we manage site logistics for marine, rail, truck, and pipeline. Job Summary
The dock operator serves as the person-in-charge of the dock and assists shoreside tankerman with the safe transfer of oil products and chemicals to and from barges and/or ships. This is a full-time position with potential for advancement opportunities.

Essential Job Functions

• Meets with the person-in-charge of the vessel and communicates with facility personnel.
• Maintains detailed dock logs to ensure all events are recorded in chronological order.
• Operates crane, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical equipment, and manual / motor operated valves.
• Understands the facility piping layout to transfer the proper product.
• Gauges barge and retrieves sample of product from vessel.
• Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

• Previous Dock PIC experience is required
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Valid TWIC required
• Must be 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Successfully pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
• Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
• Rigorous attention to detail
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Willingness to go above and beyond to assist co-workers and customers
• Speak, write, read fluent English. Hear and have good vision.
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
• Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
• Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE
• Frequently use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or control

Work Schedule and Compensation:

• This position will travel to the St. Rose, LA area working a rotating day and night shift schedule (2/2/3)
• Starting pay is $26.00 per hour with advancement opportunities based on qualifications
