What are the responsibilities and job description for the Artisan Bread Baker position at Loaf Bakery?
We are seeking a motivated professional baker, with at least one year of bread experience, for a Monday - Friday afternoon shift (approximately 12pm start time).
Job duties include, but are not limited to -
- Mixing large batch pre-ferments and bread doughs
- Scaling and shaping (wet and dry) sourdough boules and pan loaves
- Loading and baking loaves in a deck oven (with peel, not loader)
- Sheeting and shaping laminated pastry doughs
This position is full -time, Monday through Friday, with no weekend requirements. We offer dental and vision benefits, tip share, and paid time off. Pay begins at $19 an hour (including tip share), but is flexible based upon experience.
Loaf is a community oriented, artisan retail and production bakery specializing in European bread and pastries using the highest quality ingredients. We serve two retail outlets, two farmers markets and a host of local restaurants in the Durham area. We’ve been a part of the downtown community since 2007.
