Job Summary:
The Engagement Specialist will assist with the implementation phase of the FLIPPS Accelerated Clean Energy Reentry (FACER) Program. The Engagement Specialist will work alongside the Case Management team to assist with enrollment and follow-up activities. This position is non-exempt and is a grant position on a temporary contract which ends on September 30, 2028.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Engagement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will report to the Senior Case Manager/Client Services Director and will be responsible for keeping program participants engaged and active within programming in their journey toward employment. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at supporting participants who are primarily unemployed and underemployed in their reentry into the workforce, ensuring they have the resources and support required throughout the program.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain regular communication with program participants to keep them engaged and informed about program activities and opportunities.
Help each volunteer participant get signed up with the workforce development boards and VA Career Works to streamline employment,
Assist in the retrieval of employment verifications for participants each quarter, ensuring timely compliance with program requirements.
Support outreach efforts, including enrollment and intake processes, to effectively connect with potential participants.
Help plan and implement engaging groups and soft skills training sessions designed to cultivate participant skills and motivation.
Organize and assist with tabling events aimed at promoting the program and attracting new participants.
Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and develop creative and strategic ideas to enhance participant engagement and program visibility.
Monitor participant progress and provide feedback to the Senior Case Manager/Client Services Director as needed.
Utilize social media and community networking to promote program achievements and success stories.
Assist with other related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; relevant experience in outreach or program engagement preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
Problem-solving skills and creativity in developing engagement strategies.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with digital communication tools.
Valid drivers license and vehicle insurance
The ability to transport clients to required appointments
Passion for social impact, particularly in clean energy and workforce development.
Supervision:
Work is reviewed for accuracy and completeness. Works under general supervision.
Physical Effort:
Medium, lifting 50 lbs. maximum with periodic lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires long hours at a computer.
Emotional Effort:
Moderate, occasional short deadlines. Work environment occasionally hectic with occasional to frequent periods of high stress.
