The Traffic Reporter is responsible for providing timely and accurate traffic updates, ensuring they are both engaging and factually correct. This includes monitoring traffic scanners and local law enforcement channels to deliver real-time information and keeping the news team informed about incidents or stories that could impact travel. The role requires sharing details of major incidents across digital platforms, working effectively under pressure, especially during breaking news situations, and following the guidance of assignment editors, producers, and other managers. The Traffic Reporter must meet tight deadlines, be available for overnight and weekend shifts, and take on other duties as assigned.
