About LEAP
Founded in 2009, the Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP) delivers energy efficiency solutions in Virginia to make homes safer, healthier, and more affordable while reducing energy usage and mitigating climate change.
LEAP's primary goal is to empower individuals and organizations to make smart energy choices that benefit the environment and their wallets. We offer a wide range of services, from home energy assessments to solar installations, helping our community reduce energy consumption and lower greenhouse gas emissions via electrification.
LEAP has partnered with the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County to build an Energy Resource Hub that will provide personalized attention and work one-on-one with residents and businesses to navigate and apply for federal, state, and local incentives and rebates.
Overview
LEAP is seeking an Energy Navigator who will manage the Energy Resource hub and will be the community face and resource for the program.
LEAP is a collegial, fun place to do important work in a highly collaborative environment. We are engaged with our community and our world to bring the many benefits of energy efficiency and renewables to as many people as possible.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the public face of the Energy Resource Hub
- Manage all Energy Resource Hub questions and inquiries via phone, online chat, and email.
- Schedule follow up conversations for residents and businesses that have more technical questions for LEAP/C3 staff
- Host weekly office hours open to the public
- Represent LEAP/Energy Resource Hub at community events, forums, and meetings
- Represent LEAP/Energy Resource Hub in the press and local news
- Organize Energy Resource Hub sign-up information and run weekly reports
- Analyze data to better understand trends, opportunities, and barriers
- Distribute marketing, education, and outreach materials to reach potential program participants
- Develop and deliver informational webinars
- Coordinate and collaborate with LEAP program managers and issue area experts
Qualifications and Skills
- 3 years of experience or education in related areas such as communications, marketing, efficiency, or energy.
- Strong project management skills
- Basic understanding of energy efficiency with a strong interest in learning more
- Ability to write and communicate professionally and pleasantly
- Self-directed, energetic, effective communicator, time management skills, and a creative problem-solver
Preferred Skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Pay and Compensation
- Full-time position located in Charlottesville, VA
- $50,000 annual starting salary
- 15 days of paid time off, along with 11 paid holidays
