ABOUT THE POSITION
The Engagement Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including local government entities, Advisory Council members, and Civic Credit Union members. This role executes engagement initiatives designed to enhance member growth and awareness, increase retention, and promote the Credit Union's products and services. The Engagement Officer works closely with the Engagement Manager and Lead Engagement Officer to execute Engagement strategies and ensure member satisfaction within an assigned territory.
NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK
Develop and manage relationships with key partners, including local government liaisons, Advisory Council members, and potential members, to foster engagement and expand Civic's reach.Execute engagement strategies designed by the Engagement Manager, ensuring alignment with organizational goals related to member growth, retention, advocacy, and impact.Facilitate educational sessions, presentations, and community events to promote awareness of Civic Credit Union's products, services, and digital banking solutions.Support territory-based member engagement efforts, ensuring strong local government partnerships and active participation in credit union initiatives.Collaborate with internal teams and branch managers to enhance the member experience, providing on-the-ground insights into local engagement opportunities.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Credit Union products and services, effectively communicating their benefits to members and stakeholders.Assist in planning and executing external events and conferences, representing the Credit Union and ensuring high-quality engagement with attendees.Recruit and engage Advisory Council members, maintaining strong communication and supporting their involvement in credit union advocacy and initiatives.Document engagement activities in Salesforce, tracking interactions and outcomes to inform data-driven engagement strategies.Support the Engagement Manager in evaluating and refining engagement approaches, contributing insights from member interactions and Engagement efforts.Take ownership for actions, decisions, and results; openly accept feedback and demonstrate both the willingness and ability to improve.JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Here are a few qualifications you MUST have to be qualified for this position.
High School diploma or equivalent.Minimum one to three years of experience in business development, sales, marketing or local government.Must reside and maintain residency in the State of North Carolina, within their designated territory (specifically, Buncombe, Haywood, Madison, McDowell or Yancey County). Up to 80% in-state travel is required, which includes overnights and weekends. Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills.PC proficient including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and the Internet.Ability to function in a consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).Here are a few qualifications we'd LIKE for you to have.
BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.Notary Public in North Carolina, Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP) designation or Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Credit Union Business Development Professional (CUBDP) designation and/or Credit Union Development Education (DE) designations.Financial Services, marketing or sales experience, including utilizing Salesforce is a plus.OUR CULTURE
