Job Summary:
The Nutrition Specialist is responsible for data entry, transportation, general support for other services and locations as needed; supporting elderly clients with nutrition and socialization in a group setting.

Duties/Responsibilities:
· Prepares, maintains and submits daily, weekly, monthly reports, and rosters - including Peer Place software, Let’s Give Lunch, BASTAS, SFB, and other nutrition programs
· Provides support for Meals on Wheels and other congregate sites
· Encourages participants to assist with meal service and cleanup with daily task assignments
· Coordinates daily meal service tasks, including MOW and Congregate services and P.E.T.
· Maintains records and provides information to ADRSAC when changes are needed
· Prepare volunteer packets, LGL kick-off packets, surveys, distributes newsletters, and other mailings and correspondence
· Follows & understands DARS/LOA monitoring procedures and expectations
· Plans and carries out monthly calendar of activities including entertainment, educational and nutritional programs and special events/outings, including volunteer recognition
· Facilitates participant donations and contributions while maintaining confidentiality
· Understand and follow HIPPA Laws as well as PHI and PII regulations
· Enforces health, sanitary and safety regulations in the nutrition site and reports all accidents
· Monitors food delivery to the site for quality, quantity & temperature; reports any deficiencies
· Collaborate with other LOA programs and staff
· Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Maintaining food service areas, utensils and equipment in a safe and sanitary manner, including temperature control
· Knowledge of nutritional and social needs of older people
· Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with coworkers, clients and the general public
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions
· Ability to read, write and perform simple math calculations
· Ability to work independently in the absence of specific instructions
· Skilled use of a computer, including creating monthly calendars and distributing information
· Ability to keep accurate records in a neat and organized manner
· Genuine sensitivity to the needs of the elderly population
Education and Experience:
· Completion of High School or equivalent
· Background in a social, behavioral, health, or human service field helpful
· Experience in activities/event planning preferred
· Experience working with older adults is preferred
· Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
· Sporadic periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
