Garden and grocery associate

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Garden and grocery Associate to join our new shop. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting customers with their gardening and grocery needs. You will play a vital part in promoting our plant and gardening product offerings, ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience . This position requires a blend of retail sales skills, product knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers. Its not easy work. If you are seeking a sit behind the register all day job.. this job is not for you. I require my associates to actively engage with patrons.

Duties

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing information about plants and gardening products as well as grocery items.
• Demonstrate product knowledge through engaging product demos to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
• Operate cash registers and POS systems accurately for processing transactions.
• Maintain the garden area by organizing displays, stocking shelves, and ensuring cleanliness as well as watering duties. Unloading trucks , pricing and putting stock up.
• Stay updated on gardening trends, seasonal products, and new arrivals to provide informed recommendations.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds .

Experience

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
• Familiarity with gardening products, plants, and artisianal foods a plus
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
• Experience operating cash registers or POS systems is beneficial.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 32 per week
