What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Associate position at Local Wood Products Manufacturer?
Local wood products manufacturer is searching for an experienced Accounts Receivable Associate to join their accounting team.
Someone who has experience working in an office environment with an accounting related background in manufacturing or wood products industry is preferred.
This position is full time and may also assist other departments as directed by the Controller or CFO.
Essential functions:
- Timely process customer payments for multiple entities, according to company policy
- Monitor customer accounts for late payments, partial payments, and discounts taken
- Advise management regarding accounts receivables status
- Organize and initiate collection efforts
- Resolve accounts receivable issues appropriately and effectively
- Balance integrated software systems weekly/monthly, balance bank cash daily
- Communicate with customers via telephone, email, mail, or in person to make arrangements on delinquent accounts
- Perform reference checks of all credit applications and report findings to management
- Investigate and resolve customer inquiries in a timely manner
- Assist with annual audits
- Carry out other tasks as required
Qualifications:
- Proficient in MS Office with an emphasis in Excel, and Windows based software systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains software is a plus
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills, especially telephone skills
- Proven excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully in a team environment
- Strong sense of urgency adhering to many varying deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail, organized, and ability to multi-task
- Experienced in collections with a good understanding of general business operating procedures
- A minimum of 2 years accounts receivable experience and knowledge of basic knowledge of accounting is required
