Purchasing Coordinator Job Description
The Purchasing Coordinator will possess a passion for products and a keen attention to detail. The role demands adaptability to a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. The ideal candidate will maintain effective communication with both staff and vendors while employing a blend of creativity, data analysis, and intuition to manage product procurement. The Purchasing Coordinator is a flexible position with ever-changing responsibilities. The goal is to be a high level of support for the back end of Locals Canna House.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure there are no gaps in product availability.
- Strategically place orders using data, established processes, and intuition.
- Track old inventory and coordinate its integration into Dank Deals to guarantee the freshest offerings, which may involve negotiating with vendors to split credits on aged inventory.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, including potentially Canva.
- Serve as a backup for inventory during staffing shortages (receiving, counting, and inputting orders).
- Potentially places orders with Uline and Office Depot for the facility.
- Potentially assists with camera audits.
Communications:
- Maintain consistent communication across various platforms (Basecamp, text, call, email, etc.).
- Collaborate daily with the Purchasing Manager to strategize on purchasing and product-related matters.
- Facilitate communication between our team and vendors, including:
- Addressing issues with orders (incorrect counts, wrong products, product defaults) or relaying valuable customer feedback to brands.
- Tracking credits and ensuring their receipt.
- Organizing tours and educational sessions and attending as many as possible.
- Distributing samples to staff, tracking feedback, and relaying it to the Purchasing Manager and suppliers.
- Sampling products during free time and providing timely feedback.
Digital Responsibilities:
- Regularly updates our Dutchie online menu, ensuring that pictures, descriptions, and categories remain current.
- Collaborate with the administration team to strategize digital campaigns and assist in developing content and promotional materials that highlight key products and their benefits.
- Organize the backend of PoSaBit, which includes:
- Ensuring uniformity in naming conventions.
- Assisting with any missing data (product brand, strain, expiration, flavor/aroma, effect, ingredients, etc.).
- Archiving outdated products.
This position is ideally suited for a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the ability to integrate supply management with digital tools to foster business growth. This position is also a flexible position with ever-changing responsibilities. The goal is to be a high level of support for the back end of Locals Canna House.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
