We're looking for a Drilling Equipment Locator to join our team and help connect America. The Locator, under the direction of a company supervisor, performs work that involves visual inspection of predefined construction areas. Locators read and interpret utility maps to determine the presence of underground utilities, while using special electronic equipment to detect and locate utilities. The utilities may include (but not be limited to) gas, electric, cable TV, telecommunications, sanitary sewer, water lines, street lighting and other facilities within the predefined construction area. What you'll do as a Locator Read and interpret utility maps / prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities. Operate different electronic detection equipment, to locate and mark under-ground facilities within prescribed accuracy limits. Use assigned communication equipment to effectively communicate with excavators, utility reps, and company personnel, regarding underground facilities. Perform light excavation with a shovel, to expose buried utilities when necessary. Provide accurate documentation and or sketches related to all locates completed. Receive and respond to excavation notices during normal and after hours in accordance with established time requirements. Use a computer or other device to receive, document and close out excavation notices. Respond to emergency calls. Work weekends, night work and/or overnight travel as needed. Operate company vehicles in a safe manner and maintain a professional appearance. Perform manhole entry using assigned equipment and safety devices. Who we are looking for… You are at least 18 years old. You are authorized to work in the United States for this company. You have a high school diploma or equivalent. You have a valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License. You have an MVR record that is deemed acceptable by the company. You are proficient in the use of hand tools and equipment (shovels, screw drivers, wrenches, and ped keys etc.) You are able to maintain a safe work environment.
