Responsibilities:
Prepare technical reports (20%). Lay out full plan designs, plan details and outlines, identify quantities of materials, cost estimates, and perform calculations for a detailed segment of a project (35%). Prepare technical specifications for review and approval (5%). Review and approve design drawings for assigned segment of project (10%). Assist with development of design guides, guide specifications, and design control procedures (10%). Perform field tests and measurements, collect field data, as necessary (10%). Provide assistance and support to proposal teams or proposal managers (5%). Provide guidance to junior staff (5%). The position’s duties are applicable to the field of structural engineering. The worker will assist with the development of company internal design tools such as engineering spreadsheets that will be shared throughout the company for use as a design aid for items such as retaining walls. While working on public agency projects, the worker will develop specifications to aid in the construction of structural elements to be used by the Contractor. The worker will also develop costing tools for the structure, resulting in cost estimates for the structure. *Telecommuting is allowed up to 2 days per week. ** Travel is less than 5% of total time. Estimate project site visit once per month. Travel will be regional and national.**
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field or foreign equivalent and 2 years of relevant experience in structural engineering or related position. Position also requires candidates to have Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification. In addition, the following experience is required: experience utilizing various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment, including ORD, MicroStation, BridgeLink, BrR; experience with construction plans for structural projects; experience with engineering calculations related to analysis of roadway and bridge projects; and experience with solving engineering problems working hand-in-hand with roadway designers and bridge (structures) designers.
The salary range for this position is between $85,000.00 and $92,123.00 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.

Work Environment
