We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Stormwater Project Manager / Task leader to support our General Engineering Consultant (GEC) projects. In this role, you will serve as a client advocate and representative, focusing on reviewing and overseeing hydrologic and hydraulic models, plans, and specifications to ensure compliance with the client’s goals, design standards, and regulatory requirements.

You will lead internal review processes—assigning tasks to internal teams, developing review comments, and verifying that comment responses are addressed before delivering final materials to the client. Collaboration is integral to this position, as you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams—including transportation, utilities, environmental, geotechnical, and structural professionals—to deliver cohesive, constructible, and client-focused solutions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Review Processes: Manage the review and quality assurance of H&H models, plans, and specifications, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with client and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate and Mentor Teams: Assign review tasks, verify work quality, and mentor staff to support professional growth and deliver consistent results.

  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Coordinate with transportation, structural, geotechnical, utilities, and environmental teams for complex projects.

  • Advocate for Clients: Represent public agency clients by ensuring project deliverables meet functionality, budget, and schedule goals, while resolving constructability challenges.

  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Verify that deliverables align with FEMA, TCEQ, TxDOT, and other local, state, and federal stormwater regulations.

Requirements:

  • Texas PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months) and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.

  • 10 years of experience in stormwater engineering, with a focus on H&H modeling, transportation drainage design, and construction support.

  • Proven ability to manage review teams and oversee PS&E deliverables.

  • Proficiency in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D/2D), and familiarity with Civil 3D or MicroStation ORD.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across disciplines, mentor staff, and lead internal review processes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with clients, teams, and contractors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with public agencies such as TxDOT, cities, counties, or RMAs.

  • Expertise in FEMA modeling, floodplain management, and TCEQ water quality standards.

  • Experience with advanced modeling software such as XPSWMM, InfoWorks ICM, or HEC-RAS 2D.

  • Experience with ORD Drainage and Utilities (DU).

  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) designation is a strong plus.
