Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Concrete Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage all aspects of concrete construction on commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete construction, including footings, walls, flatwork, tilt-up, and paving, as well as the ability to effectively supervise teams and deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee the day-to-day activities of concrete construction projects, ensuring all work is completed according to plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Scope Expertise: Supervise and manage all aspects of concrete construction, including footings, walls, flatwork, tilt-up panels, and paving, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Scheduling Coordination: Develop and maintain project schedules for concrete-related activities, ensuring alignment with other trades and scopes of work to minimise delays and conflicts.
- Team Supervision: Lead and motivate field crews, ensuring tasks are assigned appropriately and work is performed efficiently. Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking team members when needed.
- Safety Leadership: Foster a strong safety culture on-site by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Relationship Building: Maintain positive working relationships with all project stakeholders, including owners, subcontractors, and trades, to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve project challenges, such as scheduling conflicts or unforeseen conditions, in a timely and efficient manner.
- Budget Management: Monitor project costs, labour hours, and material usage to ensure projects remain within budget while achieving the highest quality standards.
- Communication: Provide regular updates to project managers and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise communication regarding project progress, potential issues, and resolutions.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in commercial/industrial concrete construction, with a proven track record of managing projects.
- Strong knowledge of concrete construction processes, including footings, walls, flatwork, tilt-up panels, and paving.
- General understanding of scheduling concrete work and its coordination with other trades.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and handle constructive feedback.
- Proficient in balancing multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and a commitment to fostering a safe work environment.
- Certifications preferred: OSHA 30-Hour, ACI Concrete Certifications, Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) Certification.
Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
