Project Engineer
Overview
The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing assigned engineering projects from inception to completion. This role ensures compliance with project requirements, manages documentation, and facilitates post-project responsibilities, including warranty and inspection duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and manage project elements to ensure successful execution.
- Define project objectives by reviewing proposals and collaborating with management.
- Identify project phases and responsibilities, assign personnel accordingly, and evaluate contractor bids.
- Establish project specifications based on design requirements, performance standards, and client needs.
- Conduct technical studies and develop cost estimates.
- Verify product performance through testing and analysis.
- Develop and maintain project schedules by assessing plans, estimating time requirements, and sequencing tasks.
- Monitor project progress, coordinate activities, and troubleshoot issues to keep projects on track.
- Oversee project plans, specifications, and designs while managing any required adjustments.
- Manage project costs by approving expenditures and overseeing contractor agreements.
- Prepare status reports by analyzing project trends, identifying key insights, and recommending actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
- Maintain project databases by managing data entry, backups, and software programs.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations to uphold product and company standards.
- Support overall project success by contributing to team efforts as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Project planning and management expertise.
- Understanding of manufacturing methods and process improvement.
- Proficiency in technical documentation and safety management.
- Experience with CAD, CAD/CAM, and circuit design.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the construction industry.
- EIT certification preferred.
- Experience working on large manufacturing facility construction sites is a plus.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite; familiarity with scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6) preferred.
Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Extended periods of standing and sitting.
- Valid driver’s license required.
