What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Summer School Principal-INTERNAL ONLY position at Lockhart Independent School District?
Education/Certification:
Master’s degree in educational administration
Demonstrated ability to exercise the responsibility allocated the elementary school
Bilingual preferred but not required
Experience:
2 years experience as a classroom teacher or equivalent experience
Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership roles
Performance Responsibilities:
- Organize the summer school curriculum for all grade levels in consultation with appropriate members of the staff and faculty;
- Acquires the services of teachers for courses taught;
- Assumes responsiblity for attendance accounting and submits enrollment and attendance reports;
- Makes classroom visits for administrative and supervisory purposes;
- Prepares summer school schedule and assumes responsibliity for registration and assignment of students;
- Requisitions classroom equipment, supplies, and textbooks, as needed;
- Prepares and oversees dissemination of publicity and information concerning summer school course offerings;
- Prepares and administers the summer school operating budget;
- Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities within the overall scope of the position which the supervisor may assign.
- Monitors creation and completion of student Accelerated Learning Plans.
- Provide Professional Development to summer school teachers.
Supervises:
All professional and non-certified staff assigned to his/her building.
Reports To:
Under the direct supervision of the Student Services Coordinator.
