The Work

Lockheed Martin, located in Syracuse, NY, is in search of a motivated Senior Hardware Engineer to support advanced Radar Programs in a Lead Hardware Engineer capacity to meet the needs of our DOD and International customers.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day workload will consist of direct support of program execution and/or proposal support across the portfolio of products and proposals. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide the technical and programmatic leadership for Radar design and support teams.
• Ensure adequate trade studies, architectures, technical analysis, common hardware solutions, quality of products, and proper engineering process and methodology are followed.
• Work with First Line Managers to staff programs
• Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to lead/interact with a cross functional team. Will interact directly with various internal/external customers to work through technical issues, program planning, and field support.
• Update program management on project progress and roadblocks.
• Contribute to cost/benefit trade-off analysis and feasibility studies.
• Experience within the defense industry is a plus.
  
  

Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in an integrated product development team. Proficiency with the use of personal computers, including word processing and graphical applications is required. The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking.

Basic Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Computer Engineering) with minimum of 5 years' professional experience; or 3 years' of professional experience with a related Masters degree
• Detailed hardware development experience
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with minimal day to day supervision
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to comprehend and work successfully with complex systems
• Experience leading small groups of teams for technical execution on programs, and ability to work with program/functional management to meet objectives of entire program
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the SECRET level. U.S. Citizenship required

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
