Equity Research Analyst

Description:Lockheed Martin Investment Management Company (LMIMCO), a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Company, is responsible for managing the funds in Lockheed Martin's Master Retirement Trust ($15Bn).

The Junior Equity Research Analyst covering the Industrial, Material and Energy sectors provides support to the LMIMCO internal equity team by researching the business fundamentals, earnings prospects, technical analysis and other stock drivers for companies in the LMIMCO universe, and makes investment recommendations to the Managing Director of Global Equities (Portfolio Manager). The LMIMCO internal equity group currently manages four Global Equity portfolios totaling $900 million.


Primary Responsibilities
• Conduct industry and company specific comprehensive fundamental analysis, including in-depth financial statement analysis.
• Actively monitor stock technicals, buy-side and sell-side sentiment, as well as intra-sector rotations.
• Present overviews and timely investment recommendations to the equity team, including buy and sell ideas.
• Identify company and industry trends.
• Provide meaningful written research summaries.
• Participate in and attend meetings and conferences with companies and analysts.
• As the Global Industrial sector analyst, this person is expected to regularly brief LM corporate on the investment community’s view on the outlook for Lockheed Martin company and stock.
Basic Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would have an Engineering Bachelor’s degree and a demonstrated strong interest in a career in equities research.

Desired Skills:
Military background preferred as the global Defense Industry is an important part of the equity research coverage responsibilities. Personal investment experience desired. An individual that has a passion for investing in global equity markets. The work environment will be fast paced and at times intense. Being a team player is very important.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
