The Lockheed Martin Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) team is made up of enthusiastic and talented individuals that design and produce the hardware, algorithms, and software required to solve the challenging problems of controlling these systems in a harsh, zero-g environment. They support the build, integration, test, verification and ops support during checkout of this new fleet. In this role, you will be a GNC engineer that supports a wide variety of defense programs including NGG/SBIRS/OPIR/Protected Comms and Sustainment Programs.
This position requires an Active DoD Secret clearance, hence being a U.S. Citizen.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $88,100 - $166,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Basic Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Experience with software, simulation and programming tools (ex. Matlab/Simulink, C , Python)
- Possess some broad GN&C skills such as dynamics and control, navigation, attitude determination, kalman filtering and GN&C spacecraft hardware knowledge
- Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler
- Possess an active Secret clearance
- Experience with Agile development processes and methodologies
- Experience in the life cycle of spacecraft development including functional verification, closed loop integration test support and open loop integration test support
- Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler
- Experience with cross-discipline related subsystems including mechanical components and propulsion modeling
- Demonstrated good communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.
