Responsibilities

We seek a highly motivated and skilled water/wastewater civil engineer to join our team. As an Engineer II, you will assist in analyzing, designing, and managing the construction of water and wastewater treatment, pumping, and collection systems. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge in a practical and impactful way, contributing to the development of sustainable and resilient communities.

• In this role, the selected applicant will work on large-scale water and wastewater treatment facility and collections systems projects, ranging from studies and rehabilitation to green-field installations.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and collection systems using closed-pipe and open-channel hydraulics.
• Perform calculations to size water and wastewater treatment structures and equipment properly.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop reports, technical memos, plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and construction cost estimating.
• Support the preparation of technical documents for regulatory compliance.
• Stay updated on industry standards and regulations related to wastewater discharge limits.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate electrical, structural, and architectural designs into pump station and treatment plant design.
• Coordinate with public utilities and permitting agencies.
• Provide technical support during construction activities.
• Travel to project sites for preliminary site analysis or construction observation activities.
• Be responsible for project quality on tasks assigned as defined in the Quality Assurance / Quality Control guidelines.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
• EIT certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of starting.
• 1-2 years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Basic understanding of concepts of wastewater treatment and collection systems.
• Basic understanding of closed-pipe and open-channel and hydraulics.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.
• Revit and ArcGIS software experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to perform site visits.
• Previous intern experience relating to wastewater is highly preferred.
