Job Title : Pediatric SurgeonJob Specialty : Surgery - PediatricJob Duration : 13 WeeksShift : 24-Hour Pediatric Surgery Day and Evening Call and Clinic (8 AM-5 PM) CoverageGuaranteed Hours : Not specifiedExperience : Minimum years not specifiedLicense : Virginia State LicenseCertifications : BLS, PALS, Board CertifiedMust-Have : Board Certified Pediatric Surgeon; Clean background; DEA Job Description : - Seeking an experienced Board Certified Pediatric Surgeon to support a community health system in providing surgical care to pediatric patients ranging from newborns through teenage years.- Collaborating with other pediatric providers to diagnose and determine if surgery is necessary, managing and performing preoperative, operative, and postoperative care.- Surgeons will have office support staff during the day to triage incoming calls, including prescription refills.- Majority of after-hours calls are from the Pediatric Emergency Department.- Open dates : April 26-May 2 (0700-0700), May 23-27 (0700-0700), June 6-16 (0700-0700).- Full-time coverage for clinic Monday-Friday (8 AM-5 PM), night call coverage Monday-Friday (8 PM-8 AM), and weekend call coverage Saturday-Sunday (24 hours).- Rounding for the patient the locum provider has admitted and weekend surgical consults as needed.- Primarily consults from the Emergency Department; approximately 0-2 calls per day.- Hospital sees approximately 8-10 emergent surgeries per year; not a trauma hospital.- 15-minute maximum call-back time for emergency consults and 30-minute maximum response time.- 0-4 patients per day per provider.
