The ideal candidates will perform independent assessments, provide diagnosis and treatment for patients among other responsibilities while ensuring adherence to standards of care and practice.Job Quick Facts : - Ref# : GS-0015-APP- Profession : Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)- Location : Lompoc, CA- Job Type : Contract- Assignment Length : Potential for a long-term contract- Facility Type : Correctional Facility- Coverage Type : Clinical- Shift schedule : 5 days per week, 7 : 30am - 4pm (40 hrs / week)Requirements : - Active unrestricted CA License- BLS(AHA)- ACLS- Minimum 3 years of experienceResponsibilities : - Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the adult in custody population.- Take medical histories, examine patients, and order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays.- Make a diagnosis, provide treatment plans and prescribe medications.- Clinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting, and immobilizing.- Attend to medical emergencies.- Record progress notes, recommend clinically necessary outside consultation.- Perform minor surgery utilizing local anesthesia during consultation visits.- Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating and revising program plans.- Assist in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of the health care services.- Manage the daily operation of the clinic and conduct daily sick call.- Secure health histories from the patient, record findings and provide clinical evaluations.- Provide a wide range of emergency services in the absence of the physician.- Any other duties as assigned.1603001EXPPLATAbout Adelphi Medical StaffingAdelphi Medical Staffing is a national recruitment firm that specializes in sourcing locums, per diems, travel nurses, allied health, and non-clinical professionals for healthcare facilities.
