About The Position
Job Title: Advanced Practice Caregiver Profession: NP/PA Specialty: Cardiovascular Duration: Permanent, Full-Time Shift: Days Hours per Shift: Four 10-hour days Experience: Minimum 2 years of Inpatient Cardiology experience License: State Licensure Required or Willing to Obtain Certifications: Board Certified NP or PA Must-Have: Residency within the local area requiredDescription: The hospital seeks an additional Advanced Practice Caregiver to join our collaborative, growing Cardiology service line. The hospital is the largest facility in the region with a catchment area of over 320,000. Join us in our commitment to serving our amazing community. Candidates should have at least 2 years of inpatient Cardiology experience. We are accepting full-time and part-time candidates. Clinic hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Cath lab hours are 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. This opening is due to growth and expansion of services. We have a high caliber, collegial team. The position requires four 10-hour shifts after orientation completion. There is no call or weekend work required. Rotate one week in the hospital and one week in the clinic. Willingness to provide outreach services to nearby critical access hospitals is needed. This is a low stress, engaging environment. Custom orientation is adapted to your skills. Outpatient clinic sees 15-18 patients per day. The cath lab sees 6-8 patients per day. There are four physicians on staff. The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner is a licensed independent practitioner who manages cardiology patients under the direction of the Cardiovascular Service Director. Skills and abilities required include good judgment, effective critical thinking, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize and address multiple responsibilities concurrently. Must be able to work effectively under stress and frequently changing job requirements. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Confidentiality must be maintained, and the ability to think and act independently with minimal supervision is necessary. The position requires regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Interpersonal skills are necessary to work productively with patients, families, other healthcare staff, and other departments. Basic computer skills are needed. There is a personal responsibility for ongoing educational growth, and the need for collaboration with others to provide solutions for continued patient quality. Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements: Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently. Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs. Adequate hearing and visual acuity, including color vision, is necessary. Fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and the ability to grasp and handle objects are required. Proper body mechanics are needed to assist patients in ambulating and transferring.
