Supportive Counselor

Job Overview

Lodestar's Therapists help to provide direction and support to consumers, providing individual and group therapy sessions while also developing treatment plans, and identifying behaviors that impede rehabilitation.  

Responsibilities and Duties

• Managing all aspects of a case from date of entry to date of discharge. 

• Evaluating consumers physical and mental and/or emotional behaviors. 

• Developing appropriate treatment plans.

• Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions. 

• Work to facilitate Consumer care by assessing consumer needs, evaluating treatment options, creating treatment plans, coordinating care, and gauging progress.  

• Monitoring consumers over time to access treatment progress. 

• Collaborating with additional resources to provide a well-rounded scope of practice. 

• Identifying behaviors that interfere with treatment and recovery. 

• Assisting primary caregivers to manage addiction-related behavior. 

• Perform Additional duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

• A Master’s level degree in a Human service-related field preferred and/or a bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science and/or Human Service or related field. 

• Previous experience with the treatment of substance abuse disorders. 

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems. 

• Application of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services’ (SAMHSA) best practice indicators. 

• In-depth understanding for monitoring of treatment plans and clinical instructions. 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills. 

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $32,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
