Description
We are looking for an outgoing, professional Door Host/Greeter to be the welcoming face of our establishment. The ideal candidate will create a positive first impression for guests, manage entry efficiently, and ensure the safety and security of the venue. If you have a friendly personality, strong customer service skills, and the ability to handle high-traffic situations gracefully, we’d love to have you join our team.
To be considered for this role, you should be legally authorized to work in a bar where alcoholic beverages are served and consumed. You should also be available to work in shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays (Blackout Dates for no time off requests may include, but are not limited to: St. Patrick's Day weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, New Years Eve)
Requirements
- Warmly greet guests as they arrive, assist with entry, and answer initial questions about the venue.
- Check guests' identification to confirm they meet the legal drinking age requirements and refuse service to those who are underage or visibly intoxicated.
- Offer guests information on menus, specials, venue rules, and event details as needed, and direct them to appropriate areas within the establishment.
- Monitor occupancy levels to maintain a comfortable and safe environment, track waitlists, and manage crowd control as needed.
- Work with the security team to uphold safety standards, report any suspicious activity, and handle guest disputes calmly and professionally.
- Ensure the front of the venue and all exits are cleaned and free of debris, obstacles and people to provide both cleanliness and safety (in colder months, remove snow and salt pathways to provide safety)
- Follow the LMG, EE* Code of Conduct
- Protect establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies (BASSET & Food Handler Certifications; any additional certifications as required)
- Respond to guest concerns promptly, ensuring a positive experience from entry to exit. Escalate issues to management as necessary.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to interact with guests/patrons and provide excellent customer service
- Strong people skills
- Ability to lift/move up to 40lbs
- Ability to stand/walk for entire shift
- Problem-solving and conflict management skills
- Knowledge/passion for Chicago nightlife a plus
Other Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have night/weekend/late-night availability
- Must provide or be willing to obtain both BASSET and Food Handler certifications
