JOB SUMMARY
Canopy by Hilton Scottsdale Old Town
We are looking for an amazing bartender who us ready to join a growing food drink team within a vibrant new hotel property in Old Town Scottsdale. This position is responsible for preparing and serving beverages and food to guests in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. Adheres to all health regulations and local liquor laws. Ensures exceptional guest service and creates an inviting bar atmosphere. Follows company and brand standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction.
What You'll Do
- Greets all guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Accurately and efficiently takes, enters, prepares and delivers guest orders according to standards.
- Responds to guests needs and provides the highest level of quality service.
- Assists other associates as needed to meet guest's needs.
- Follows all Canopy by Hilton cash handling/POS procedures to ensure accurate closing of all guest checks.
- Dispenses appropriate level of alcohol; prepares drinks to recipe and company brand standards.
- Responsible for proper use of all equipment and adheres to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
- Consistently checks guests' identification and monitors guest consumption of alcoholic beverages to ensure compliance with state and local liquor laws.
- Responsible for disposal of garbage, picking up trays, re-stocking barware, and clearing/wiping down tables and counter.
- Transfers dishes to the dish wash area and washes barware.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner while adhering to Canopy by Hilton internal audit procedures.
- Assists with inventory, completing inventory par sheets, and other responsibilities as needed.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area and handles all beverage/food in compliance with Canopy by Hilton, local, state and federal regulations.
- Follow all Canopy by Hilton procedures for guest/associate incidents.
- Knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
- Adheres to all company and Canopy by Hilton brand policies and procedures.
- Works as a team player and actively contributes to the success of the bar/restaurant experience.
What You'll Bring
- Must have one or more years of previous bartending experience.
- Demonstrated exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis throughout shift. Ability to lift, transport, and connect a keg weighing up to 150 pounds an occasional basis.
- Requires ability to complete physically demanding responsibilities such as walking, standing, carrying, and lifting continuously throughout the shift
Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements
- Title IV Liquor and Food Handlers Certification, or the ability to obtain certification as required.
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Balancing maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. Specifically, when the amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary motion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
- Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Specifically, if it is to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
- Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
- Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
- Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
- Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks. Specifically, for long distances or moving from one work site to another often.
- Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
- Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. Specifically, if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
- Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
- Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

- Close Vision: Clear vision at 20 inches or less. Required to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading or visual inspections.
- Color Vision: Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Extreme Heat, Indoor: Exposure to temperatures typically above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour which are weather related.
