POSITION SUMMARY Oversee the property in the evening hours to ensure profitability, quality standards and complete guest satisfaction.
Monitor safety and security programs for the purpose of providing protection and a sense of well being to all guests and associates.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Interact positively with customers promoting property facilities and services. Resolve guest issues by conducting thorough research of the situation in order to choose the most effective solution to satisfy the parties involved, while maximizing property profitably.
Move throughout the facility to visually monitor and take action to ensure service standards are being met in all departments.
Communicate with guests and associates both verbally and in writing to answer questions and provide clear direction in advising and instructing staff in details of work.
Watch for suspicious persons entering, exiting or loitering around building. Conduct walk through observations of the entire property.
Visually inspect all areas of the property on a daily basis to ensure cleanliness, safety and efficiency of the entire operation.
Promote safe work practices. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and preventative measures. Develop, revise and advise key personnel of emergency procedures.
Investigate accidents, thefts, property loss, company policy violations and unlawful activities. Document details, take immediate appropriate action when necessary and advise management.
Keep guest and associate safety as primary concern. Monitor for efficiency safety and security related programs for overall property including : evening lost and found process, issuance of property keys, fire preparedness training, and evacuation drills, etc.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions.
Assist in check in / check out of guest or any other related guest service activity during high volume periods. Perform room inspections which require bending, stooping, reaching overhead and moving throughout guest floors.
Escort guests and associates as required to parking lots, provide same for associates carrying house banks. Provide accurate information to inquirers for directions, hours of operation, etc.
Locate bell assistance to escort guests to their rooms as appropriate. Provide safety deposit boxes for guest by escorting them to the vault pulling the box from the vault and carrying it to the customer.
File access slips in room order. Have guest complete signature card. Use the photocopier to make copies of items as required.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Considerable knowledge of computer systems for registration, reservations and backup systems. Thorough knowledge of the layout of the building, function rooms and of the city and surrounding areas.
Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
Ability to listen effectively speak, read and write English clearly to ascertain and document important information Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
Ability to stand, walk and / or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift. Hearing and visual ability to observe, detect and respond to signs of emergency situations.
Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, climbing stairs, kneeling, and walking between and within buildings.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
High school diploma required. College degree preferred.
