BASIC FUNCTIONS : Under the direction of the Warehouse / Print Shop Supervisor, assist in a District warehouse or stockroom filling orders for stocked items; receive and verify incoming shipments; drive a vehicle to pick up and deliver items. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS : KNOWLEDGE OF : Methods of receipts, storage and issuance of supplies and equipment Safe driving practices and traffic laws Basic principles and methods of servicing automotive equipment Proper methods of loading and unloading Proper methods of lifting heavy objects Basic record-keeping techniques. ABILITY TO : Wrap and pack articles for shipping and storage Lift and move heavy objects Perform heavy physical labor Make arithmetic computations with speed and accuracy Operate a forklift Learn record-keeping procedures associated with assigned duties Drive an assigned vehicle to pick up and deliver items Read road maps, labels and route schedules Understand and follow oral and written instructions Work cooperatively with others. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Any combination equivalent to : high school diploma or equivalent and experience in warehouse or delivery work.REQUIRED DOCUMENTS : The following MUST be attached to application :

- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree or Higher Education DegreeSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATES : Valid California Driver's License; presentation and continuance of a satisfactory driving record to ensure maintenance of liability insurance coverage. Obtain and maintain forklift operator's certification as mandated by the District. Certification must be obtained within the first six months in the position. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment physical examination. Cost of the exam will be borne by the District. A pre-employment drug screening will also be administered. If selected for the position, out-of-district applicants must be T.B. tested and fingerprinted.
