The Human Resource Generalist will play a key role in managing a variety of HR functions, with a strong focus on recruiting top talent for both exempt and non-exempt positions. Responsibilities include conducting orientation and onboarding for new hires, assisting with benefits administration, maintaining the Learning Management System, managing FMLA administration, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The role also involves supporting employee relations, maintaining accurate HR records, and collaborating with the HR team to promote a positive workplace culture. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working both independently and within a team.
What we look for:
- Previous experience in a HR generalist or related role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally
- Experience working with an applicant tracking system and full cycle recruiting
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and strong organizational skills
What you’ll do
- Support HR functions, including employee relations, unemployment claims, and compliance
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for both exempt and non-exempt positions in Des Moines, assisting the HR Recruiter with recruitment for branches as needed
- Conduct orientation to ensure new team members have a smooth transition into the company
- Oversee FMLA administration and ensure compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture by promoting employee engagement and retention
- Handle other duties as assigned to support the HR team
