By providing space infrastructure as a service, we enable multiple customer payloads to share a single spacecraft platform through Loft’s in-house Payload Accommodation Module.We’re looking for an FPGA Engineer to join our growing team and help drive our FPGA technology forward. In this role, you’ll work closely with other engineers to design, implement, and test FPGA solutions that support Loft’s space missions. You’ll contribute to product development, collaborate on new feature planning, and refine Loft’s standardized FPGA development processes.

At Loft, we value respectful debate and people who aren’t afraid to challenge assumptions.  We strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don’t ‘check all the boxes.About this role : FPGA Design and Development :  Collaborate with the team to develop, implement, and verify FPGA logic, supporting Loft’s satellite systems and product roadmap.Verification and Validation :  Participate in the testing and validation of FPGA designs, ensuring reliability, performance, and adherence to mission requirements.Process Optimization :  Support and improve Loft’s FPGA development processes, contributing to best practices for consistency and scalability.Cross-Functional Collaboration :  Work with the engineering, software, and integration teams to ensure FPGA designs align with overall mission objectives.Must Haves : Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.3 years of experience in FPGA design and development (advanced experience is advantageous).Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog, with knowledge of Xilinx Vivado.Understanding of digital design principles including synthesis, timing analysis, and testing.Strong problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Nice to Haves : Experience with space-grade FPGA design or familiarity with satellite hardware constraints.Knowledge of Spacewire, Ethernet, PCIe, Aurora, or other high-speed communication interfaces.Hands-on experience with embedded systems and integration of FPGAs into satellite systems.Python or scripting experience for test automation and workflow efficiency.Some of Our Awesome Benefits : 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance option for employees and dependentsFlexible Spending (FSA) and Health Savings (HSA) Accounts offered with an employer contribution to the HSA100% employer paid Life, AD&D, Short-Term, and Long-Term Disability insuranceFlexible Time Off policy for vacation and sick leave, and 12 paid holidays 401(k) plan and equity optionsDaily catered lunches and snacks in officeInternational exposure to our team in FranceFully paid parental leave; 14 weeks for birthing parent and 10 weeks for non-birthing parent Carrot Fertility provides comprehensive, inclusive fertility healthcare and family-forming benefits with financial supportOff-sites and many social events and celebrationsRelocation assistance when applicable$130,000 - $190,000 a yearState law requires us to tell you the base compensation range for this role, which is $130,000- $190,000 per year which is determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.  The salary range for this role is intentionally wide as we evaluate individuals based on their unique experience and abilities to fit our needs. Salary : $130,000 - $190,000
