Position Overview : A chemical plant in West Ascension is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive HR Generalist to join its team on a long-term contract basis with a potential temp-hire. As an HR Generalist, the candidate will play a vital role in supporting various human resources functions across the plant, ensuring smooth operations, and contributing to the development of a positive work environment. You will manage HR policies, recruitment, employee relations, benefits, training, and compliance, all while fostering a culture of safety, inclusivity, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities :
Recruitment & Onboarding :
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, and coordinating new employee orientation.
- Scheduling and administering assessment tests to candidates.
- Work with hiring managers to review resumes and assessment result
Employee Relations :
Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related concerns, issues, and conflicts.Promote a positive and inclusive work culture by addressing employee concerns and providing coaching or conflict resolution as needed.Compliance & Policy Enforcement :
Ensure plant operations comply with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as company policies and procedures.Training & Development :
Identify training needs and assist in planning and delivering development programs for employees.Coordinate safety training, skill-building initiatives, and other employee development opportunities to promote growth and retention.Administrative :
Miscellaneous filing, copying, shredding, and responding to inquiries.Assist with Document Management System project.Aid with miscellaneous tasks, projects, or events.Help with recording, tracking, and maintaining data in Word, Excel, and Accessinsj
Requirements : Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.2-4 years of experience in HR, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.Experience with payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations.Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with all levels of the organization.Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software (HRIS systems).Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.High attention to detail and discretion when handling confidential information.A proactive and team-oriented attitude.Preferred Qualifications :
PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certifications.TWIC required
