Lofton staffing is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist for a busy Occupational Medicine clinic in Baton Rouge, LA!
- Reviewing occupational health patient records, including work-related injuries, exposures, and examinations.
- Assigning accurate medical codes for diagnoses (ICD-10) and procedures (CPT, HCPCS) based on occupational medicine guidelines.
- Understanding and applying specific occupational medicine coding rules and modifiers.
- Preparing and submitting electronic insurance claims to payers for occupational health services.
- Ensuring all necessary patient demographics, diagnosis codes, procedure codes, and billing information are accurate on claims.
- Monitoring claim status, following up on outstanding claims, and addressing claim denials.
- Identifying and resolving coding errors to maximize reimbursement.
- Communicating with insurance companies regarding claim issues.
- Generating patient invoices for co-pays and outstanding balances.
- Working with patients to set up payment plans if necessary.
- Staying updated on current coding guidelines and regulations related to occupational medicine.
- Ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
This position is onsite, Monday- Friday 7 : 30 AM- 4 : 30 PM

Requirements :
5 years medical billing experience
Medical Billing and Coding Certification
