Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician with experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDE) methods, specifically Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), to join our team. This role will involve inspecting valves and related components for quality and compliance with both industry standards and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with these NDE methods and proficiency in using measuring tools to inspect machined parts. Certification is not required for these NDE methods, but candidates will be expected to perform a practical test as part of the interview process.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform NDE Inspections : Conduct Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) on valves and components to detect surface defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Machined Part Inspections : Utilize various measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.) to verify the accuracy of machined parts and dimensions in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
Documentation & Reporting : Record inspection and test results, documenting any non-conformities or defects found and ensuring that all records comply with company quality assurance standards.
Troubleshooting & Defect Resolution : Identify and report any defects, inconsistencies, or issues found during inspections. Work with the engineering and production teams to resolve quality concerns.
Maintain Equipment : Ensure that all NDE equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and ready for use. Perform routine checks to ensure equipment is functioning accurately.
Safety Compliance : Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment and ensure the proper handling and storage of NDE materials and equipment.
Final Inspection : Conduct final quality checks on finished products to ensure all valves meet customer specifications and are ready for shipment.
Qualifications :
Experience in Valve QC : Minimum of 3 years of experience in valve quality control or related manufacturing environments.
NDE Methods : Proficiency in Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) is required. Certification is not required, but candidates must be able to perform a practical test during the interview process.
Measuring Tools : Experience using standard measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to measure and inspect machined parts.
Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of valve types, applications, and quality standards.
Quality Assurance : Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards.
Problem-Solving : Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify defects and recommend corrective actions.
Attention to Detail : High level of precision and accuracy in inspections and reporting.
Communication Skills : Effective written and verbal communication skills to report findings and collaborate with team members.
Physical Stamina : Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs, as well as stand, walk, and bend for extended periods during inspections.
Preferred Qualifications :
Certification in LPT and / or MT (optional but preferred).
