Job Title : Shipping Administrative Assistant
Location : NW Houston 77086
Compensation $18 - $20 DOE
Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to handle administrative tasks related to the shipping and logistics operations of our client's company. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in processing Bills of Lading (BOLs), managing invoicing and packing slips, scheduling freight, and maintaining accurate shipping records. This role primarily involves office-based tasks and requires strong organizational skills and experience in shipping documentation.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and process Bills of Lading (BOLs) for outbound shipments, ensuring all information is accurate and compliant with shipping regulations.
- Generate and manage invoicing and packing slips for outgoing shipments, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule freight pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely shipments and cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all shipping transactions, including BOLs, invoices, and packing slips, in both physical and digital formats.
- Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to provide shipment status updates and resolve any shipping-related issues or discrepancies.
- Review and verify shipping documents for accuracy before shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Assist in tracking shipments and ensuring timely delivery, updating relevant stakeholders on status changes.
- Ensure compliance with all company shipping policies and procedures, including quality standards and safety requirements.
- Provide general administrative support to the logistics and shipping departments as needed.
