Description:
Under general supervision performs a variety of skilled and specific laboring tasks related to parks and sports field maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of skilled and specific laboring tasks related to the parks and sports field maintenance. Prepares and grooms all baseball/softball fields using specific equipment to drag and rake dirt as well as using hand tools such as rakes, shovels, tamps, etc. This includes but is not limited to edging infields, chalking and painting lines, removing standing water, waters dirt infields on dry days, removes all weeds from fields, secures bases and pitching mounds. Also removes trash from all fields, cleans and sweeps dugouts, cleans equipment room, restrooms; restocks restrooms and other areas as needed; paints foul poles and services other amenities as directed. Operates various types of mechanized and complex equipment. Reports, documents, and acts upon correcting safety related field issues.
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of a standard senior high school or equivalent. At least 18 years of age. Moderate mental application and training required. Must be in good physical condition and capable of working in all weather and seasonal conditions, and in operating mechanized maintenance equipment. Knowledge of general landscaping maintenance and construction methods and practices. Skills in understanding and following oral and written instructions. Various state and city certifications may be required as per assignment including a valid Utah Driver/Operator's License.
