Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Welfare Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of children in need of support. The Child Welfare Specialist will work closely with families, children, and various stakeholders to provide guidance, resources, and interventions that promote healthy family dynamics and child welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the needs of children and families.
  • Develop and implement service plans tailored to individual family situations.
  • Collaborate with community resources, schools, and healthcare providers to coordinate services.
  • Provide crisis management support to families facing immediate challenges.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage families effectively.
  • Monitor progress and adjust service plans as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions, assessments, and interventions in compliance with child protective services regulations.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of children within the welfare system.
  • Facilitate conflict management strategies among family members to promote resolution and healing.
  • Stay informed about family law and behavioral health issues relevant to child welfare.

Experience
Ideal candidates will possess a background in social work or a related field with experience in child protective services. Key qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of family law principles.
  • Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Experience working with children experiencing behavioral health challenges.
  • Skills in crisis management and conflict resolution.
  • Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
  • Prior experience in childcare or related environments is highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,254.72 - $52,280.73 per year
