Oversees a team of drafters who use Vertex BD (CAD) for product design. Implements and manages the company's plans. Knowledgeable about principles of design, construction, engineering, and building regulations. Ensures drawings and designs are completed on time and adhere to the established specifications and standards. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to top management. Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 2 years of managerial experience.
Responsibilities
1. Coordinates effectively with Marketing Team
2. Able to take on large scale, complex, tasks
3. Implement job improvements from company staff
4. Communicate with various departments and managers on how to implement any changes or customization, providing leadership and oversight for the flow of data with drafters
5. Responsible technical administration, as well as for performing project work.
6. Establishes deadlines, develops goals, and determines production standards for the department.
7. Possess Problem solving and leadership skills
8. Manage and train new employees
9. Create easy “replicable” workflows that streamline production
10. Oversee drafting and design variance
11. Ensures drawings and designs are completed on time and adhere to the established specifications and standards.
12. Applies engineering or architectural principles to the design of buildings/structures and their components or assemblies
13. Has extensive experience with drafting methods and tools.
14. Understands community guidelines, local municipality guidelines & regulations and building codes.
15. Communicates and coordinates with engineer and their plans
16. Understanding local zoning, UDO guidelines, setbacks, easements, and floodplain areas etc.
17. Works with local officials to resolve design constraints for accurate architectural documentation.
18. Establishes and maintains BIM modeling and drafting standards
19. Provides BIM technical support and develops solutions.
20. Responsible for product set-up with BIM Team
21. Oversees the BIM integration into estimating
22. Oversees creation and implementation of new take-off measures
23. Works with purchasing to resolve and enhance BIM take-off
24. Responds and supports field superintendent with design or drafting problem solving
25. New software implementation

1. Knowledgeable of Vertex (CAD) Software & Option Manager
2. Understands BIM software and take-off measures
3. Able to Lead a team and encourage them to meet and exceed department production schedule.
4. Someone who is: Leader, Self Starter, Decision Making, Selfless, can Plan and Organize, Coach, Overcome and schedule
5. Can communicate well with internal staff and external consultants.
