Machinist Job Description

This role involves machining and manufacturing products for customers in a cost-effective manner while showcasing proficiency in setting up and operating manual machine shop equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Use calibrated equipment to measure component characteristics and ensure conformance to requirements prior to assembly.
• Interpret manufacturing drawings, service manuals, and work instructions to manufacture customer parts efficiently.
• Prioritize preventive maintenance of assigned equipment and maintain it in good operating condition.
• Ensure quality work meets customer requirements and report nonconformances to the Quality Department.
• Document work activity using manufacturing IT resources and properly log time on router operations.
• Adhere to company safety policies and improve safety performance by generating process improvement ideas with supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to use various types of inspection tools, including micrometers, Vernier calipers, gauges, etc.
• Proficiency in interpreting manufacturing drawings, schematics, and Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiarity with CNC software network, post processing, and programming is required for Machinists assigned to CNC.
• General hand tool usage and ability to read and write English are essential.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a General or CNC Machinist is required, depending on the specific position.
